The Painting Project

My mother tole painted throughout my life.  I remember wanting to watch her paint and trying my hardest not to bump her or the table as she worked.  Other than witnessing my mother's talent, I have no actual experience painting other than what I have taught myself as I have played around with different mediums on my own.

The Bane of Jeffery.  20"x16" canvas using acrylic paints and buttons.
The Bane of Jeffery (named as such due to an intense phobia of buttons a friend of mine possesses) uses buttons and jute to create texture and personality.  Since I am more of a doodler than a real life artist most of my canvas paintings have buttons sewn onto them to make them a little more fun.

He Dreams of Us.  16"x11.5" Illustration board using acrylics.
Fortify Your Heart.  14"x11" canvas using acrylics.
I have several ideas for the Fortify Your Heart theme.  I'm going to start working on one in a bird cage, and another behind barbed wire.  Fortify Your Heart is empowering and enabling. As with anyone who has had previous relationships I have had my heart broken, stolen, and cherished.  It takes a lot for me to let my guard down to love somebody.  I feel as though I have hidden my heart behind a brick wall, safe and sound, until I am finally ready to let someone else in.

Never Say I Didn't Try

Trapper Keeper
Never Say I Didn't Try and Trapper Keeper are both paper mache projects I started months ago when I was too broke to even afford 2 for $20 canvases at Michael's.  They are recycled cereal boxes and were actually a lot of fun to work with.  I like that they stick out from the wall further than a regular canvas, they give my walls more dimension.

As with the dolls, I am open to doing custom paintings, please keep in mind that I'm really just making it up as I go and realistic qualities are not my strong suit.  As for pricing, the smaller cereal box canvases are $15.00, the mid sized canvases are $20.00, and the larger canvas is $25.00.  Again, I will keep you posted on when my Etsy Shop is up and running, but I'm sure we can work something out in the mean time.
